How To Use WordPress Disable Comments
Everybody hates spam, well who doesn’t?
Spamming websites or blogs with comments that don’t add value to a content is not a good idea.
It’s irritating and makes other visitors see your content as of no value to new readers coming to your website, and it also makes your content less engaging.
On twitter platform, millions of users are commenting on tweets with links everywhere just to send traffic to their website or landing pages.
Most people leave links in twitter comments with the intention of driving traffic.
Such practice will not only violate policies but also it can lead to higher bounce rates hurting SEO performance on your website.
In this post, I will talk about how to use the wordpress disable comments to block spammers on your website.
If you use wordpress, it’s easy to restrict and block comments by just installing wordpress disable comments plugin, that will do all the work for you.
This plugin allows you to disable comments on any type of post, pages, attachments, etc. so that these settings cannot be overridden for individual posts.
Important Note: Use this plugin if you don’t want comments at all on your site (or on certain post types). Don’t use it if you want to selectively disable comments on individual posts, wordpress permits you to do that anyways.
Now follow these steps below to do the installation:
1. First login to your wordpress dashboard.
2. Go to menu and click plugins.
3. Click on add new.
4. Search for “disable comments”.
5. Install and activate the plugin.
Alternatively, you can also disable comments on new posts manually through the wordpress settings.
To do this, just go to settings and click on discussion.
Under default posts settings, uncheck the “allow people to submit comments on new posts”.
Hope this helps!.
