4 Best Ways To Start of Something New and Benefit Long-term

Are you a school dropout or a college graduate who is just starting life?. This is the perfect time for you to start of something new.

Life can be difficult when you have no one to guide your paths into the right direction. Some people are very fortunate to have parents who give them some advice, others too don’t have that kind of opportunity.

Those who lost their parents at a very young age find life to be extremely hard, they’re usually found on streets hustling everyday to make a living.

Today you see them owning companies, cars, and big mansions. They’ve turned their side hustle into multimillion dollar businesses, changing from rags to riches.

Life can teach so many lessons when you make mistakes in the past but all is worth it.

Failure plays a very big part in people’s lives, it’s the only way to spot some weaknesses, strengths and capabilities.

It also helps to transform and shapen you as a person.

You may be facing or going through hard times now but it’s never too late to make a difference in this world, opportunities are still there, you only need someone to mentor and coach you to utilize them and start in the right direction.

We all know Colonel Sanders Right?

At age 65, he attempted to commit suicide.

Because he was financially broke!.

But something miraculously happened.

There was one thing he could do better than anyone he knew. And that was “how to cook”.

So he borrowed $87 against his cheque, bought and fried up some chicken using his recipe, and started selling them to his neighbours in kentucky.

At age 88, Colonel Sanders, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Empire became a billionaire.

start of something newTo start of something new and become successful, you must be hungry and ready to take action, that’s the first thing to do!.

The second most important thing is your “attitude”.

No matter your color, background or where you come from, attitude takes you to places you’ve never dreamed of.

My Campus Life

When I was in the university, campus life was really hard, it wasn’t easy for me because of financial constraints. I struggled throughout the years combining academics with other personal activities.

At a very young age (20’s) I was still relying on my parents for money, and all I do is study, eat, watch movies and sleep.

As a student, I had only one thing in mind and that was to get a high paying job after I’m done with school (that has been the system we are all made to go through), but surprisingly, something changed all of a sudden in my third year.

I met one guy who was sharing some flyers in the streets, I didn’t know exactly what it was all about so I decided to call him and find out.

He started talking to me about entrepreneurship; the lifestyle, income, wealth, luxury and freedom one can get. It has never occurred to me during that time and I felt so energized to search and look for more, I was eager to learn, hungry for success and do all it takes to become an entrepreneur, but where to start becomes a problem.

I kept looking for ways and means to earn money while in school until I finally graduate from the university.

So here are a few things I tried to focus on:

  • Health and Beauty Business
  • Blogging
  • Freelancing
  • Teaching/Lecturing

Let me start with the first one.

1. Health and Beauty Business

The health and beauty business is one of the best ways to start of something new and earn money, this industry will be worth a trillion dollar in the next 20years.

What are the best niches in health and beauty?

Talking of niches, there are lots of them, they include:

  • Pharmaceutical
  • Weight Management
  • Fitness
  • Skin Care
  • Cosmetics

Every single day, people are always looking for solutions to their health problems so why not take this opportunity to recommend and share the best products for young and old adults.

One thing I love about this sector is that, the market size is huge and there’s more grounds for you to sell.

Fortunately for me, I found a health and beauty company with over 300 different products on the global market, all their products are purely made of aloe vera, 100 percent certified by aloe science council and the Islamic seal “halal”.

I’ve tried one of their products before and honestly it works really well, I had stomach ulcer (a severe one), I took the aloe vera gel together with the fish oil supplement (arctic sea) for three days, the pain became less severe and mild until it stopped. I went to see a doctor for scan just to find out if the ulcer is still there.

Surprisingly, there was no sign or traces of ulcer, I got instant healing within three days.

Disclosure: These products I recommend to you is something I’ve tried personally before and I’m not making any false claims here, they are certified by aloe science council and the United States FDA (food and drugs authority), they are safe for human consumption and will not cause any harm to you.

After I went through the healing process, I started recommending the aloe juice and fish oil supplement for people suffering from peptic ulcer, stomach ulcer, colon cancer, high blood pressure, constipation and gastritis.

This company been so generous rewards me for using, sharing and recommending their products to people having similar problems like me.

The health and beauty business is one of the best niches because the demand is so high and very competitive.

3. Freelancing

This is a great business model that allows you to get started with virtually no overheads and you must be fully committed, dedicate your time and passion to succeed in a freelance business.

So many people think freelancing is just for creative professionals but I have learned that the business model is so much more.

So what’s freelancing?

In my own words, freelancing is a business started by an individual that markets or sells a service.

This means that freelancers have a unique set of circumstances as they grow their business to make sure they stay on track to reach their goals.

The common problems faced by freelancers are:

    • Not charging for what your service is worth
    • Getting stuck in a discounting price war
    • Not focusing on the right market or clients
    • No focusing on the right things or too many things at once and limit business growth
    • Having a service offering that is too broad

There are several types of freelancers in the freelance community with each group having different expectations and goals for their business.

Types of Freelancers

a. Side-Project Freelancers

These freelancers have a part-time or full-time job and use freelancing to supplement their income after their day job. Side project freelancers are often in the phase of starting their freelance businesses and hope to turn it into a full-time freelance lifestyle.

b. Full-Time Freelancers

Full-time freelancers are those that work as a freelancer completing different project for a number of clients. Full-time freelancers often work from home or from shared office spaces and charge an hourly or project rate for their time.

c. Single Contract Freelancers

These freelancers generally work for one client at a time for a fix term contract. This is a great way to go if you want to work certain months of the year and have set breaks. This type of freelancing can be difficult because you generally only have one income source (or client) at a time which can make it difficult to manage you cash flow over the year.

d. Freelance Business Owners

Freelance business owners are those people who I believe have leveraged the opportunities presented to freelancers for business growth. Although they still undertake some traditional freelance project they have found ways to create more passive streams of income in their business.

When I started a freelance job, I did it on part-time basis so I could have enough time to study and focus on my projects in the final year.

There are many freelance jobs that pays well, some pay on an hourly basis, daily, weekly or monthly, the ones I found to be easier and less stressful are data entry and typing, both can fetch you good money if you do it right!.

There are popular freelance platforms you can join, some of the best ones I know so far are; fiverr, freelancer, upwork and people per hour.

Before you choose your freelance platform find a marketable skill that’s in high demand and less competitive, that way, you don’t struggle much searching for clients.

And always make sure you polish your new skill and improve upon your ideas, this will eventually attract more people to love your work.

If you are just a beginner with no skills try copywriting. It’s one of the best skills for someone who wants to start a freelance job.

People who are into copywriting don’t make anything less than $3000 a month.

4. Teaching/Lecturing
